Born with a Romanian and English background (a Rom-Pom), Dimitri grew up on the streets of London obsessing over Hovercrafts and Action Man. While in his teens he, along with his family, emigrated to Australia.

After slumming his way through art college, Dimitri was lucky enough to find himself as the production runner on the first "Babe" feature.  For him it was a profound experience and inspired him to pursue a career in film and television. He graduated from the VCA Film School in the late 90's and has since spent the last few years working as an Assistant Director while developing short, doco & feature projects.

His short films have screened at the British, Sydney, Edge of the Earth and Flickerfest Film Festivals, while “Dream What You Want” was a finalist in Tropfest. In 2005 "Big Men; Bigger Dreams", his first documentary, was nominated for both AFI and Dendy awards.

Dimitri lives in Bondi, with his long-suffering girlfriend and daughter.  He's currently developing his hard-boiled feature, "The Watched"and shooting “Back to the Howard” a feature length doc about the Howard Theatre and Washington blues scene.
